Staying Active

How to Spend Your Time Outdoors in Sugarloaf Activity #1: Nourish Your Green Thumb Enjoy spending time in a fabulous garden! Gardens typically come complete with a variety of flowers and veggies, you can finally have a moment to yourself and learn a new skill – or continue your favorite hobby. According to News Health, getting outside can ease depression, build up your immunity, and help improve attention deficit problems. Activity #2: Speed Walk in Nature While walking the Mills and buying   presents for your grandkids may be fun, studies have not only shown that being out in nature is better for you, but they’ve also shown that walkers can lose just as much

weight (or more) as runners, because walkers typically engage in the exercise more often. Sugarloaf has plenty of outdoor paths to put this theory to the test – so grab some friends after breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and head right outside your door – or even go down to Rhodes Jordan Park, a gorgeous outdoor area in Lawrenceville, where you can find numerous walking paths, baseball fields (perfect for those grandkids!), and places to sit down and take a break!     Activity #3: Go to Lawrenceville Live! With the Family The end of summer is the perfect time to spend time outside, listening to music, eating food, and enjoying time with your family. On the first Friday of each month from June – December in the Historic Square, the town shows off its artistry with street performers, local musicians, local business activities, and celebrations centered around whatever holiday is coming up next! There is truly something for every member of your family – your teenage granddaughter can listen to new bands, the younger grandkids can enjoy the street performers, and you and your grown-up kids can enjoy trying different food from various businesses nearby.
