On the Record: Brendan Barr Talks Northpoint on Jarvis Creek with WHHI of Beaufort County, SC
OneStreet Residential Managing Partner Brendan Barr sat down with WHHI to discuss the progress and purpose behind the 157-home community, Northpoint on Jarvis Creek: the latest example of OSR's leadership stepping directly into the public conversation on workforce housing.
When the Town of Hilton Head Island needed a development partner it could trust to deliver a competitive, civic-minded workforce housing project, it selected OneStreet Residential. When local media wanted to understand what that partnership actually looks like in practice, they turned to the person leading it: OSR Managing Partner Brendan Barr.
Barr's recent interview with WHHI is part of a broader pattern at OneStreet Residential — leadership that shows up, on camera and in the community, to explain not just what's being built, but why.
A Managing Partner Who Leads From the Front
Brendan Barr has been a face of Northpoint on Jarvis Creek from RFQ to groundbreaking, and forward. At the project's February 2026 groundbreaking, Barr spoke directly to what the community means for the island's workforce:
"Northpoint on Jarvis Creek is a connected neighborhood for the people who keep Hilton Head Island running, so that this essential workforce can finally live where they work, protecting the island's future, economy, and sense of community."
That same direct, on-the-record approach carried through into his conversation with WHHI, where Barr discussed the project's design intent, its construction progress, and OSR's plans to keep the community informed as Northpoint moves toward completion.
For a Managing Partner overseeing a firm with more than three decades of development and management experience across Georgia and, now, South Carolina, that visibility is deliberate. It reflects how OneStreet Residential approaches every project: with a named leader willing to stand behind the work publicly, not just a company statement.
Why OSR Shows Up for Local Media
Northpoint on Jarvis Creek is a public-private partnership — built on Town-owned land, backed by RBC Community Investments in its first non-tax-credit workforce housing initiative, and shaped through a competitive selection process. Projects built on that level of public trust carry a responsibility to be transparent about progress, and that's a responsibility OneStreet Residential's leadership takes seriously.
Making Barr available to local outlets like WHHI is part of how OSR delivers on that: giving the community, municipal partners, and capital partners direct access to the person accountable for the project, rather than filtering updates through press releases alone.
